The following selected projects are either on-the-boards at JDA, in pre-construction or under construction. They represent a general cross-section of our current work.
Charter Square is a $100 million mixed-use development consisting of two towers located between Fayetteville and Wilmington Streets on the former site of the Raleigh Convention Center. The North Tower consists of 12 stories of office space, five levels of residential condominiums and retail space at street level. The South Tower has 8 stories of residential condominiums also with street level retail. Both structures rest on 4 levels of sub-surface parking. Fayetteville Street Plaza is proposed to be the southern anchor to the Fayetteville Street Renaissance. Together with the proposed Marriott Hotel across Fayetteville Street, it will create a new identity for the southern downtown skyline and serve as a crucial urban companion to the new Raleigh Convention Center.
Located in the Glenwood South area of Raleigh, North Carolina, the West at North will be a fifteen-story high-rise multi-use building with a concrete structure. The building area will be approximately 398,000 square feet having one level of retail / commercial space on the first floor, parking on the first through fourth floors and residential condominiums on the fifth through fifteenth floors. The building will also feature a roof top pool terrace. The skin of the building will be a combination of brick, pre-cast concrete and metal panels. This project is scheduled for completion in 2008.

Pavilion East is a $16.5 million mixed-use development of predominantly retail and office-use across Erwin Road from Duke Hospital in Durham, NC. Twenty eight two story Penthouse Residential Units are also part of the development. 685 parking spaces are accommodated in a structure deck and in two levels below the five-story steel frame structure. Pavilion East is scheduled to be complete in 2007.

West Village represents 900,000 SF of Historic Preservation/Renovation of the former Liggett & Myers Tobacco Manufacturing Facilities in Durham, North Carolina. The six buildings on the 9-acre site will be transformed into a dynamic mixed-use neighborhood featuring 450 living units, 273,000 SF of office/laboratory space, 55,000 SF of retail, and a new parking structure.

This project is a mix of retail, office and residential units with structured parking. The site which is bounded by Fourth Street, Liberty Street, Third Street and Town Run Lane will also have a plaza which weaves together the Trade Street Arts District, Restaurant Row of Fourth Street and The Town Run Lane strollway to create a new civic center for downtown Winston-Salem. The building contains 210 residential units, 40,000 SF of office and 20,000 SF of retail. Civic Plaza is to be completed by 2009.
This five-story, concrete frame condominium project adjoins the parking deck of the recently completed Progress Energy headquarters building. The building "fronts" a full city block along Blount Street and turns the corner at Cabarrus Street where it ties into a City of Raleigh parking deck. The project consists of both townhouse and flat units. Additional parking is provided by a new interior deck. Palladium Plaza is to be complete by Spring 2007.
This high density 4 & 5 story condominium community is adjacent to a retail development that is part of the Arborteum PUD. This project has an internal parking structure that supports 40 dwelling units per acre density. The Arboretum is scheduled for completion in 2007.
The Residential Training Center at the North Carolina Zoological Park is primarily intended to serve visiting scholars and zoological field experts by providing conference, support and housing facilities for short to medium term tenures.

Sky Sail is a mixed use Resort development on the Trent River in historic, downtown New Bern. Retail shops and restaurants screen structured parking at street level. Six upper stories with one hundred condominium units are organized to maximize waterfront views.

Davis Park is a 150 acre new urbanist mixed-use community underway in the heart of the Research Triangle Park. Davis Park will include up to 2,500 multifamily units and approximately 225,000 SF of office and commercial space. Davis Park is scheduled for completion by 2010.

Walnut Terrace is a mixed use neighborhood located in downtown Raleigh. It represents a $20 million Hope VI Grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). JDavis Architects is providing architecture, landscape architecture, and planning for the entirety of Walnut Terrace. It is scheduled for completion in 2010.

90 luxury condominium units make up this oceanfront high rise building. The building also includes 2 levels of structured parking spaces and a club level with concierge service. The Grande Villas are to be complete by 2007.

Blakeney is designed on “new urbanist” principles with a patterned street grid. Craftsman style “big house” buildings with eight apartment units each define a network of landscaped courtyards. Blakeney is to be completed in 2007.

Moss Landing is an eight acre Downtown Waterfront infill development in the historic district of Washington, North Carolina. The project consists of 60 Residential Units (Condominiums and Townhouses), a 50 Room Inn and a public marina on the Pamlico River. Five-story condominium infill development in the Battery, Charleston’s most valuable real estate. The development is on a narrow site abutting a City of Charleston parking structure. Penthouse units will range in size from 3,000 sf to 3,500 sf and will have views to Charleston Harbor. Concord and Cumberland is to be completed in 2007.

The Lassiter is a 6 story condominium building that will set a new high standard for residential luxury in the Raleigh market. It has extensive amenities including private gardens, fitness facilities, board rooms and Owner’s Club integrated into the first level. Two sub-grade parking levels provide secure private parking for the residents. The project consists of approximately 222,000 SF with residential condominiums ranging from 1241 SF to 5352 SF. The Lassiter is scheduled for completion in 2007.

The 11,000 SF Athletics and Arts Center project for The Raleigh School will include a half basketball court sized gymnasium, three classrooms, a stage area, breakroom, janitor’s room, bathrooms, and storage areas. The design also includes a drop-off area, play areas, and a playing field. This project is scheduled for completion in May 2007.

This Clubhouse for the Old Chatham Golf Club located in Chatham County, North Carolina, establishes a destination at "the turn". The 7,500 SF plan includes such amenities as an eating lounge with full service kitchen, spacious locker rooms, pro shop, library, gallery, and offices. An expansive porch provides an outdoor gathering space overlooking the 18th green.
