Our broad housing experience includes virtually all multifamily building types. We are experts in both the planning and architecture of garden style, high density, urban infill, and mixed use apartment and condominium developments. As enhancements to these developments, we are also skilled in the design of amenities such as clubhouses, gatehouses, pools, and fitness facilities.

Thirty Three Calhoun is a key project within a revitalization zone of downtown Charleston. The narrow (85 x 300 foot long) site fronts a future public park and all units have views over the park to Charleston Harbor. Four stories of living units sit above grade level parking.

UNC Baity Hill Student Family Housing is a new campus for married student residents at UNC Chapel Hill. The project consists of 400 one and two bedroom apartment units in nine buildings built over a sublevel of parking. The steep, wooded site is between the Dean Smith Center and Mason Farm Road. The project is designed to maximize the preservation of natural areas and to adaptively reuse the historic Baity House that occupied the crest of the site as a student center.

This five-story, steel frame, mid-rise building, in downtown Raleigh consists of retail on the first level and luxury condominium units above. Parking for 100 cars is located on the first floor. The major design and planning objectives for this project were to develop an economical, contextual design with a number of unique design features to distinguish it in the downtown market. The building was designed with a target market of urban professionals who expect a high level of finishes, innovative floor plans and generous outdoor terraces.

This urban infill project, located in downtown Raleigh's Historic Warehouse District, consists of 46 luxury condominiums over basement parking. The five-story steel frame structure is clad with brick masonry veneer and sited on the property line to "front" the park and strengthen its remaining unarticulated edge. This project was awarded the 1999 Sir Walter Raleigh Award.

Ballast Point is a narrow peninsula of land within the second home community of Pirates Cove. Ballast Point Villas are comprised of three story condominiums over grade level parking and two story townhouses over garages. The condominiums face Roanoke Sound and have spectacular waterfront views of the Outer Banks.

Southampton was the first rental apartment community to be approved in ten years for the small coastal town of Mount Pleasant, just north of Charleston, South Carolina. Buildings were organized in a neo-traditional plan to form individual courtyards oriented around existing live oaks. The architecture alludes to the rich heritage of nearby Charleston.

Courtyards at Blue Ridge is a high-end condominium project in West Raleigh. The 60-unit community features amenities including single car garages with interior access, elevators, lush landscaping, and private sun decks on all units.
