Our broad housing experience includes virtually all multifamily building types. We are experts in both the planning and architecture of garden style, high density, urban infill, and mixed use apartment and condominium developments. As enhancements to these developments, we are also skilled in the design of amenities such as clubhouses, gatehouses, pools, and fitness facilities.

Blakeney is a high-end apartment community consisting of 206 living units within the Blakeney PUD in developing Southeast Charlotte. It was designed to be pedestrian friendly on “new urbanist” principles with a pattern of gridded streets and sidewalks. Eighty-unit Craftsman style buildings define the street edge and create a network of landscaped “bungalow” courts. Selected apartments have direct-entry garages while all have grade level entries defined by covered porches. The Resident’s Club and leasing offices share a three-story structure with residential units. This building serves as a focal point and visually anchors the community.

Southern Oaks was designed as an integral neighborhood within Davis Park, a 400 acre mixed-use community surrounded on three sides by Research Triangle Park. Two L-shaped “Gateway Buildings,” with three living levels over a parking level, frame the entry to Southern Oaks from the Davis Park Village Center. The balance of the apartments is in three-story garden-style buildings. The Amenity/Leasing Center is designed around a 24-hour coffee bar, internet cafe and state-of-the-art fitness facility.

Windsor Manor is a high-density mixed-use apartment community comprised of 300 living units and 12,000 SF of ground level retail space with an internal 470-space parking garage. Private balconies overlook an internal courtyard and a series of exterior spaces formed by the four and five-story building. Windsor Manor is HUD?221-D4 financed.

The Grande Villas is a ninety condominium oceanfront high rise. The building includes 2 levels of below-grade structured parking, a club level with concierge service and an extensive pool amenity.

The Waterfront at Golden Isles Marina is a second home marina community on exclusive St. Simons Island. The project consists of three stories on a grade-level parking structure. Three, three-story buildings all have water views. The penthouse level consists of larger, four bedroom units with extensive outdoor terraces.

The Arboretum Apartments is a high density 4-5 story apartment community “fronting” a retail development that is part of the Arboretum PUD. This project has a parking structure to support a 40 dwelling units per acre density.

UNC Baity Hill Student Family Housing is a new campus for married student residents at UNC Chapel Hill. The project consists of 400 one and two bedroom apartment units in nine buildings built over a sublevel of parking. The steep, wooded site is between the Dean Smith Center and Mason Farm Road. The project is designed to maximize the preservation of natural areas and to adaptively reuse the historic Baity House that occupied the crest of the site as a student center.
